Gomis, sosyal medya hesabından yayınladığı mesajda, şu ifadelere yer verdi:

"Bugün iki duyguyu bir arada yaşıyorum. Yeni bir ülkeyi, yeni bir takımı keşfedeceğim için mutluyum ama bir yandan da benimsediğim ülkeden ayrılmanın üzüntüsünü yaşıyorum. Galatasaray, bana futbolun gerçek tutkusunu öğretti. Kendimi önemli hissetmemi sağladı, bana ilk şampiyonluğumu verdi. Galatasaray’da gördüğüm sevgiyi başka hiçbir yerde göremeyeceğim. Zor zamanlarda beni ve kulübü destekleyen, kulübünü çok seven dünyanın en iyi taraftarları... Sizi asla unutmayacağım. Takım arkadaşlarıma teşekkür ediyorum. Onlar olmadan başarılı olamazdım. Bana hep yardımcı olan antrenörlere çok teşekkür ediyorum. Yorulmadan çalışan yöneticilere teşekkür ediyorum. Büyük bir teşekkürü de Fatih Terim’e armağan ediyorum. Şampiyonluk duygusunu bana yaşattığın için çok teşekkür ederim. Bu yaşımda bir şeyler öğrenebileceğimi düşünmezdim ama sen bunun aksini ispatladın. Türk halkına teşekkür ediyorum. Dünyanın en güzel ülkelerinden birine sahipsiniz. Gurur duyun, güçlü olun, bir olun. İnsanın ailesinden ayrılması zordur ama bazen hayat sizi bu yola sürükler. Ön göremeyeceğimiz durumlar yaşanır ve seçimler yapmamız gerekir. Buradan, hedeflerimi tamamlamış hissiyatıyla ayrılıyorum. Galatasaray için daha fazlasını vermek isterdim. Galatasaray’ı asla unutmayacağım. Yeni bir macera başlıyor ama siz her zaman kalbimde olacaksınız. Sizi seviyorum..." 

 

Today is a day of double emotion, I’m happy to discover a new country, a new club. But I’m also sad to leave a country that has become my adopted country. A club that will have made me discover what’s the true passion of football. Which will have made me feel important, who will have given me my first title of champion. Which will have allowed me to mark my imprint of "Aslan "In the pantheon of the scorers in superlig. Football is a thing ... a big and beautiful thing! But above all this is the human who takes over. The love I’ve received here will never be equal. Fans and Fideles the most incredible fans that I’ve had the chance to know until today, who love their club who live for their club who will have always supported me especially in the difficult moments. I will never forget you! ❤ In this great club of Galatasaray I leave friends of the brothers a family. Thanks to my teammates without whom I could never have done all this. Thanks to the staff members who have always been there to help me. Thanks to the employees who work tirelessly for the smooth running of the club and who have brought me so much. A big thank you to the coach @fatihterim for letting me know what it's like to be a champion. I did not think to learn anything at my age but as he will show me the opposite. Thank you to the people who have allowed me to flourish in Turkey. Thanks to all the Turks you have one of the most beautiful country be proud be strong be united !!! My family from Galatasaray know one thing I leave the heavy heart it’s never easy to leave one's family but sometimes life is so made. There are situations that we do not necessarily have to program, choices that we must make. I leave with the feeling of a work accomplished even if I would have liked to give even more for this club but the life wanted it otherwise ... Know that I will never forget you and that today it’s a chapter which close but not the end of the story because you will be forever in my heart. I love you !!!❤
